Technology Free : In Germany
Our event held in Frankfurt from April 29 to May 3, 2024, constitutes the first phase of the "Technology Free" project.
The Technology Free project emphasizes the Waldorf educational approach, which aims to limit the use of technology in early childhood and encourages children to play with natural materials to develop their creativity and problem-solving skills.
Our goal within the scope of the project is to enhance the professional competencies of teachers and staff in partner kindergartens regarding Waldorf education principles and practices, and to develop non-technological and creative teaching methods and materials appropriate to the developmental characteristics of children.

April 29, 2024 - First Day of our week began with an introductory and networking session at Tugçe Albayrak e.V. in Frankfurt. Here, participants got to know each other and learned about the project.
Then, we set off for Bad Soden-Salmünster. There, we visited Tugçe Albayrak's grave and learned about the local history. After lunch, we explored significant spots such as the monuments dedicated to the Brave Women of Bad Soden-Salmünster and the city walls. The mayor, Dominik Brasch, warmly welcomed our team at the local museum and organized a wonderful museum tour for us.

April 30, 2024 - On our second day, we went to the Waldorf School in Oberursel. Here, we visited the morning classes and observed how the Waldorf education model is implemented on-site. Interactions with teachers and students allowed us to better understand the essence of Waldorf education. Then, we headed to the DFB (German Football Association) for lunch and a tour of the facilities. At the end of the day, a certificate ceremony was held at Frankfurt Römer.

May 1, 2024 - We dedicated the third day to exploring the landmarks of Frankfurt. Participants were given a city map marking the unique points of the city and were asked to explore these locations and take photos. This activity allowed participants to get to know the city better and gain awareness of the cultural heritage.

May 2, 2024 - On our fourth day, we visited Dottenfelder Farm in Bad Vilbel. There, participants learned about organic farming at the local farm and discovered how to practice agriculture using natural methods. The farm workshop allowed to people connect with nature and learn about sustainable farming practices.
May 3, 2024 - On the last day of the week, during the 'Tea Chat,' we evaluated the event week and participants shared the experiences they gained from Waldorf education. A meaningful reflection session was held. With gifts and farewells, the event came to an end, but unforgettable memories remained in the hearts and minds of our participants.

Our guests from Italy, Lithuania, and Turkey had the opportunity to spend an educational and innovative week while discovering Germany's most important stories on-site. Embracing the values of Waldorf education and the idea of limiting the use of technology in child development, this project left a lasting impact on the participants.
